ZONA LAB is a dynamic project at the crossroads of contemporary art, music, research, and interdisciplinary education, serving artists and socio-political workers addressing societal challenges. Our approach is active, critical, and emancipatory, fostering dialogue, political engagement, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

As a social platform, it encourages dialogue with diverse audiences, promoting socially and politically conscious artistic practices and interdisciplinary education. Artists collaborate with local communities, activists, and experts, informing their work through research and dialogue. We transcend disciplinary boundaries, utilizing our location in a border city to explore the full spectrum of border semantics. It is a discursive platform fostering cultural pluralism, conviviality, and community co-creation.

ZONA LAB promotes the art projects of the residency online and locally via an individual website profile. The AiR team helps fellows identify events, resources, and discourses relevant to their research, and advise on the logistics of research and presentation. The length of AiR (6 months) facilitates deep engagement with local communities, it allows to conduct research, and develop projects for diverse audiences. The location, a border city in CEE offers enriching dialogue and stimulating critical reflection across socio-political, cultural and historical dimensions.
